Our Crew

Richard Evans

Richard has been selling just about all of his adult life, first in corporate Hi Tech, then in 2001 as a yacht broker for other firms.

About 10 years ago, Richard had a vision of starting a brokerage that was obsessed with serving the boating community in a way that really stood out. All it took was truth, honesty and integrity, passion for people and passion for boats. Back then, it was one salesman and one office. Today Calibre has grown to 3 offices and 10 people with expansion plans to add 2 more offices and 2 to 3 more sales people in 2017.

The people that are hired at Calibre Yachts all embrace the same foundational values that Richard holds, and as a result, and by God’s grace, the company continues to grow.

If you have not experienced the Calibre difference yet, he welcomes you to try it on and see for yourself why so many customers insist that Calibre is their brokerage of choice when buying or selling a boat.

Jeff Crowter

Calibre Yacht Sales is delighted to have aboard Jeff Crowter as a valued crew member. He will cover your boating needs on the North Shore, the Sunshine Coast and Powell River areas.

Jeff was born and raised on the North Shore and now splits his time between his home on Savary Island, the gateway to Desolation Sound and his other home in North Vancouver. Jeff has been a lifelong boater. He is looking forward to helping people into the boating lifestyle, and also those looking to sell their existing boats.

Jeff has a corporate executive background in one of the biggest and most respected companies in BC, with responsibilities that included research and development, customer satisfaction measurement and sales and marketing. Combine these skill sets with his passion for boats, his values and integrity, his propensity to help people and his comfortable and professional style and we have yet another person well suited to match you to your next boat and to sell the vessel that you may currently have. We believe that you will find Jeff a delight to work with as part of the Calibre Crew.

Robert Ksyniuk

Robert has been an integral part of the Calibre team since 2012. He began his interest in boating at an early age. The passion expanded into crafting and building his first boat at age 15. The years following have taken Robert through numerous, very successful management positions in a variety of industries with a focus on photography, outdoors and design. After moving to Vancouver Island in 2011, the desire to work in the marine industry led him to meet up with Richard Evans, the owner and founder of Calibre Yacht Sales. The opportunity to expand and grow the Nanaimo branch was offered to Robert. Since then he has become one of Calibre’s top salesman. He is now proudly offered the position of opening our new branch in Victoria British Columbia.

Robert’s passion for outdoor adventure, photography, scuba diving and soccer has attributed to his amazing active lifestyle. Robert shares his love for the water and the outdoors with his lovely wife, Sue. Accompanied by their two dogs, LeeLoo, a Cairn Terrier, and Poppy, a Pomeranian, the adventures continue.
Wilderness boating off the waters of Haida Gwaii, British Columbia, Costa Rica and Borneo are a few of the locations their adventurous lifestyle has taken them.

Whether you are buying or selling, we know you will enjoy working with Robert. His love for people, for boats, the outdoors and his caring professional approach has led him to a very successful career with Calibre Yacht Sales.

Doug Robinson

After a successful financial career with two of the leading companies in the industry, Doug now turns his focus to Yacht sales. Spending his youth on the beaches of Cadboro Bay and learning to sail at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club was the start of his passion for boating.

Doug, his wife Karen and son Trevor spent many hours sailing the Gulf Islands. Since 1993 they have been members of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron. Doug became an Instructor with the Brentwood Bay Squadron. His keen interest in all things boating has led him to volunteer with the board of the Maritime Museum of BC where he is Past President and life member.

With Doug’s enthusiasm for safe boating he joined the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary – recently rebranded the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue. During his 13 years as a SAR specialist he has logged over 200 hrs annually responding to marine emergencies, training crew and special events such as CPS student cruises and Sail Pasts. Certified by Transport Canada to conduct vessel safety inspections he is able to ensure that your vessel meets the standard safety requirements.

Doug’s professionalism, discretion and history of solid client relationships allow him to focus on his true passion for yachting.

In 2016, Doug was elected to be a Board Director with the B.C. Yacht Brokers Association. Karen and Doug are also proud members of the Maple Bay Yacht Club.

Stephen Nesbitt

It’s pretty clear that I am destined to the sea, have had the draw from as far back as I can remember. Why is that I cannot tell you. I just know that I love boats, and I love people. Having the opportunity to bring the two together just works for me.

I like the culture at Calibre; the team works together more as a family; they’re fun and excited to help. This unconventional approach to the industry also seems to be working for them given their obvious growth.

I have helped many friends in the past in finding the right boat, and helped them through the process of buying it. Now I can do the same with the full weight of the Calibre Team and systems in support.

If you’re buying or selling a boat, please call me. As I said above, I’m here to help.

Todd Masse

Having sailed for over 40-years, I have taken part on many races and cruises on Canada’s three coasts, appreciating the diversity of waters, and the uniqueness of harbour-side communities. Throughout my journeys, I have had the opportunity to meet many people, to gam about boats, and share a few dockside yarns. To me, yachting is a healthy lifestyle that brings people together while appreciating individual journeys. My love of boats and the sea is further demonstrated through nautical rope work, and the restoration of classic wooden yachts.. Such passion is further illustrated throughout Calibre Yachts, and as team, we are able to discuss the needs and dreams of new and existing boaters alike.. May you have a safe and happy landfall.

Calvin Wilson

We are pleased to welcome Calvin to our team of Sales Professionals.

Calvin has been an avid boater since his childhood, during which he spent many days on the waters of the Campbell River area, fishing and exploring. Bitten with the sailing bug in university, he started with racing dinghies and then moved on to coastal cruising with his family, first in sailboats and now on their beautiful trawler-style cruiser. They like nothing better than dropping anchor in beautiful surroundings, spending the day kayaking and hiking, relaxing with friends and then enjoying balmy summer evenings from the upper deck.

Starting out as a design engineer and moving on to management and leadership roles, Calvin has had an exciting career in information technology. However, his enthusiasm for boating has led him to join Calibre Yacht Sales with the goal of helping others into this lifestyle that he and his family so enjoy.
